Are you interested in longevity or muscular strength? I believe in the future gyms aren't going to be needed. Gym is where you go to to die quicker. You want to age faster? Go do muscle training. And that's fine. I used to train my muscles a lot and be very focused on heavy weight lifting and I was jacked. But I was having to eat constantly. I was eating six to eight meals a day. My gut was all torn up and my body was constantly tired and always wear and tear on the body. My joints were aching, all kinds of issues in the body. When I started doing Qigong, I feel like I got younger. All my joints got more fluid, my motion got more, my energy got more, everything began to boost, my skin got cleaner, I felt like I got younger from doing the practice. Why? Because I'm not going through that constant repair, rebuild. My body is actually aging gracefully versus going into rapid degeneration. So this is the big difference between muscular strength and fascial strength. When you go into the fascia, it doesn't need as much caloric intake. You don't need to breathe as much. So you don't have that wear and tear on the body. I just googled, what's the average age of death of a competitive bodybuilder? 45 years old. Let me repeat that. According to Google, the average death of a competitive bodybuilder is 45 years old. >> [music] >> Why are they dying so young? Because when you focus only on muscular strength and muscular growth, the body goes through a lot of wear and tear and it's going to age much quicker. So think about it. The muscles require a lot of caloric intake, a lot of calories, constantly consuming, cuz what's happened, when you grow a muscle, you're basically tearing the tissue and then it needs to regrow a new tissue. And so it needs the caloric intake, [music] and it's also that wear and tear of constantly repeating, repeating, and repair, repair, repair. It just wears out the body. So, the body will age much faster when it's only focused on muscular growth. The real longevity practices are practices like Qigong that focus more on fascial tissue, fascial growth. So, this is holding postures for longer, extending the body, really going into the depths rather than just a short pump. So, it's also opening up the body, allows for more flow, and it doesn't have that constant wear and tear on the body that causes rapid aging like muscular growth. Now, you can go into our library of Qigong videos and try the practices for yourself. Because I know when you go into it, you're going to see a whole different change in your body, in your shape, in your skin through doing fascial exercises. Now, some of these Qigong exercises can be just holding horse stance. This is the one practice throughout all martial arts that are the most consistent. Why? Because [music] it's training the legs. It's training the arms. It's training the mind to stay focused, to [music] go through your pains and discomforts. It's not just pump and getting angry. It's also that emotional discharge with a lot of these muscular strengths. They go "I got to get angry, get mad. Rawr, let me get through it." And all that emotional discharge is just [music] pouring your life force away, just giving your energy, giving your life away. For what? So, that you can lift a metal plate. Great. Now, if you want to really have longevity, go in, keep your emotional energy internal. Hold your charge. This is [music] what's going to give you longevity and a long-lasting life. And it's not like never get excited or never get angry or never get sexually aroused. Sure, they all have a time and a place, but I want you to be in control of your emotions. And through fascial training, you'll go through in your depths of all your emotions, sadness, grief, all these things that are kind of repressing the body, repressing your breath. Go deep into the Qigong practice and I promise it'll change your life forever. This is a practice that's been around for thousands of years. It's not a recent [snorts] practice that just came about. How long is weightlifting been around? Like sure, there's, you know, lifting bricks and rocks and [music] things we've been doing it for thousands of years, but actually going to a box that has poor air quality and lifting metal plates, I just don't see that. I think that's a great way to die faster. Let me know what you think in the comments. Fascial strength or muscular strength? Or is it a balance of both? All right, let me show you one exercise to show you the difference between muscular strength and fascial strength. [music] Right? Muscular strength, just like in the body, it burns out quick. Fascial strength is long-lasting. Okay? >> [music] >> So, we're just going to go into push mountain pose. You're going to hold here and you're going to push from the center of the palm, push out. Focus on the fingernails, bring the thumbs and the fingernails back towards your head, and try to extend the fingers. So, just relax your breathing. Push with the center of the palm. Keep the face relaxed and keep pushing. Push outward and then pull the fingernails back and then extend the fingers like [music] you're extending, reaching further with each finger. Keep relaxing the breath. With every breath, push a little bit deeper. Again, start pushing the palms and then [music] pull the fingernails back and then extend the fingers. Push with the palms. Pull the fingernails back. Extend, reach [music] farther with the fingers. Push. Pull. Extend. Can you start to feel that? Now, if you sit here with the fascia, you're just training, relaxing. [music] If you try to engage the muscles, you'll feel yourself burn out much quicker. Keep going. See how far you can go. Push. Push strong. Push as far as you can, strong as you can. >> [sighs and snorts] >> Pull the fingernails back. Extend reach >> [music] >> each finger a little bit further. Grip the ground with the feet, push [music] up with the crown of the head. Push with the palm. Pull the fingernails back. Extend the fingers. Keep [music] going. Stay relaxed, stay calm. Stay relaxed [music] in your breath. Push with the palm, open. Pull the fingernails back. Extend the fingers. Can you start to feel [music] that yet? Push with the palm. Pull the fingernails back. Extend the fingers. Keep going. Hold strong like you have two walls. [music] This is called push mountains. Imagine you're in between two mountains and they're closing in on you and you're pushing them open. Relax [snorts] the shoulders. [music] Push with the palm. Pull the fingernails back. Extend the fingers. Relax. Stay in it. >> [sighs] >> Inhale, push. Push on the inhale. Push again on the exhale. >> [sighs] >> Can you start to feel it yet? So, you'll notice people that are more muscular, you're going to burn out a lot quicker cuz the muscles are burning. They're burning and churning. Fascial tissue is longer lasting. Gives you the longevity. Go ahead and relax down. Feel your hands. [music] So, that charge, that's chi moving through the body. You're moving fascial tissue. So, everything, it's not just focused on one specific muscle. Everything, that whole web. And once [music] it starts to burn out here, it'll start to engage underneath. Your core will start to engage. Your legs will start to strengthen. The whole body comes together to support itself. This is where the connectivity, the becoming one with yourself, really going into your depths and processing and feeling when the motion and pain comes up, staying present, not trying to run from it, escape it, invite it in, go deeper into it. This is where the fascial strength really goes deep and really gets into the longevity cuz then you're clearing out emotions, energetics that are locking into the tissue, especially the fascia. They say the issues are in the tissues. You're going deep into these things, clearing them out of the body, clearing out any blockages, any disease, any kind of illness that's in the body can be cleared out through the practice. Thank you so much. Let me know what you think. Is it muscular strength, just going to live forever, or fascial strength? What do you think is going to live longer in a human? Let me know in the comments. Thank you for tuning in today.
